SONJA STAINES: Founder and director of ESD, and Ballet Excelsior of Houston. Committed to dance education, Staines is the administrator and examiner of SCB Syllabus. Her involvement in the performing arts spans over three decades, starting in Australia. She has produced musicals, variety shows, and ballets in Australia, Canada and the USA, and organizes regular international missions trips. Ms Staines is an ABT Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 5 of the ABT National training Curriculum.
LIZA POLLOK: Co-Director of Excelsior School of Dance, Director of Ballet Excelsior of Houston, is an accomplished dancer, choreographer and teacher (SCB, CSTD & CBA), mother of two and a pastor’s wife to her husband, Scot. Liza’s ballet training was in Australia and Canada, before relocating to the United States at eighteen years of age. She has danced as a Company member with Ad Deum Dance Company, as well as traveling extensively as a dance to Russia, Europe, Canada, Australia, China, and throughout Central America. Liza is also on staff member as teacher with Project Dance Sydney, LA, Atlanta, NYC & Houston. Liza is an ABT Certified teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 5 of the ABT National Training Curriculum. She has danced in Asia, Europe, Canada, Australia, Central America and the United States (Ad Deum Dance Company). She is the co-writer of the Sonshine Christian Ballet syllabus. Liza is also director and choreographer of Ballet Excelsior of Houston.
